@MattWalshBlog You are seething with incoherent rage for no reason, just like the neurotic lefties who have convinced themselves that standardized testing is a vile form of institutionalized racism
@nic_carter It seems obviously true both that Elon is not literally killing anyone and also that the manner in which USAID was shut down means he bears some responsibility for the many people who predictably died as a result
@captgouda24@madis_sins Aren’t the unambiguous cases mostly the ones where people are taking quick plea deals anyway? Same basic logic as what you suggested above
@uranoutofluck@IsabellaMi24887@SanchezMamacita Understood - this is why I said “socializing”, because your objection seems to be primarily about proximity to the baby, not about alcohol consumption. At any rate, thank you for the engagement
@uranoutofluck@IsabellaMi24887@SanchezMamacita Having a beer or two seems ok to me since there isn’t any real impairment and you don’t have to drive. Drinking enough to impair your judgement or fitness I agree would be irresponsible. Would your answer be different if no drinking were involved?
@uranoutofluck@IsabellaMi24887@SanchezMamacita Agree what is fine? Leaving the baby unmonitored while you’re at a restaurant? No, not responsible. Socializing at a close neighbor with a baby monitor? Yes, fine
@uranoutofluck@SanchezMamacita In the hypothetical where your baby is sleeping and you have a monitor, they’re being tracked fine. You’ll hear when the baby wakes up and cries for food or a change. Not helpful for an unlikely catastrophe like a house fire, but also not something I think of as risky
@uranoutofluck@SanchezMamacita This mother just left her kids behind though, she wasn’t monitoring them from right nearby. But I take your point, it’s true that a parent at home might detect an unexpected house fire when a baby monitor might not show evidence of it until it’s too late
@SanchezMamacita@uranoutofluck Just to clarify, you think it’s irresponsible to socialize while your baby is sleeping unless you have their crib in direct view? e.g., if you had guests over to your house and the baby was sleeping upstairs (with a monitor), to you that would be bad parenting?
@uranoutofluck You are incorrect! And I’m honestly not trying to flex anything, I mostly want to understand the mindset of the apparently large minority of people who think that having a 2-minute walk home to your child’s crib is a risky situation
@uranoutofluck Don’t think I understand. What’s the difference in terms of risk to the child between being downstairs with a baby monitor or being 2 houses away with a baby monitor?
