The product designer who accidentally became a "rocket scientist" at #NASA JPL. Actually, to be factual, I'm just a satellite engineer. All views are my own.
@realDonaldTrump This is not the America I grew up believing in. We should not start foreign conflicts and then, unable to end them quickly, turn to targeting civilian infrastructure. Destroying systems that families depend on for power & transportation does not make America gr8.
Also, just to be clear, all views on the account above are my ownโฆ wait, not my own, they are the views of my chat GPT agent who helps my write space headlines in a snarky way. I just select the ones that are actually funny.
๐ฐ๏ธ Because the current funding environment feels like spaceโvast, empty, and full of broken dreamsโI made an account to match.
Follow @AstroDeadpan for dry, unimpressed space news. Itโs like @SpaceNews, but with 80% less optimism. ๐๐
@lyft charged me $20 for 1 drop of coffee that got on the on a seat. Literally $20 for something that would take the driver 1 minute to clean. I responded to their notification to contest, but they never responded
I would suggest that @lyft changes their cleaning fee structure, with a minimum of $5 for very small items. I would be fine with this. But $20 for one coffee drip feels very excessive.
Note at the same time it appears Lyft has a max of $150, which I think is too little for drivers who have really bad passengers who cause extensive damage/cleaning.
Becoming a Satellite Engineer before graduating high school? ๐ Excited about this afternoonโs session at 1:00 today at #AIAASciTech: 'SATS-02 CubeSats before College: Expanding the STEM Pathway.'
Honored to chair the session of incredible students with Kevin L. Simmons.
Utilizing travel credits with @AmericanAir turned out to be more hassle than it's worth. Regretfully, won't consider flying with them again, even if it's free. Lesson learned: volunteering seats for credits on an airline that's not up to par was a mistake. Ok, thats my rant sorry
Disappointed that @AmericanAir's computer system switched our flight without consent, separating our family. Frustrating situation, but choosing to find humor in the absurdity of the situation. Improvements needed!
@AmericanAir donโt think I will be flying with you ever again. Almost ruined our Christmas plans, and now after delays due to maintenance, my parents have to drive 5 hours to pick us up from a missed connection (at least we have that option).
This was after @AmericanAir bumped me and my family of 3 kids and gave us trip credits we apparently canโt use as they only apply to adult fares ๐ง #dontgetbumped
@AmericanAir you may want to fix this before someone gets zapped โก๏ธ. Flight 1987 on 6/23 seat D11โฆ oh the outlet didnโt charge, but it did have a green light.
Very exciting to see Vigoride 2 separate from Transporter 6. You can just see some parts of the Caltech payload on board in the corner of the camera. Power is positive and can't wait for the tech demonstration.
Success! Now to test all systems, especially the water plasma engine. New capability to maneuver things into and out of orbit, including debris. @momentusspace
The strategy in the @SouthwestAir boardroom... "lets just stop trying and let our customers find alternate airlines who have IT systems that work" #Southwestmeltdown
Congrats SWOT on a successful launch! Fun fact, the antennas have to deploy with a precision of ~10 arc seconds. Which mean when we tested, we had to design a test rig to measure less than 5 arc seconds. What is an arc second? Take one degree and divide by 3600.
Liftoff! ๐
SWOT, the first satellite mission that will observe nearly all water on Earth's surface, is headed for orbit. But this is only the beginning. Continue to follow our live broadcast as well as #TrackingWorldWater. Go SWOT!
