Welcome to the show, ATL 🅰️
For the first time in franchise history, our starters have scored double-figures in consecutive games and 100+ points in three straight games. That's All-Star behavior!

@NCAALAX@NDlacrosse@theACC Congrats to Shawn!! However he isn’t the first defender to win the Tewaaraton. First male defender, yes—first defenseman—yes, but not first defender, as Princeton’s Rachel Becker won in 2003.
@Inside_Lacrosse@Tewaaraton@NDlacrosse Congrats to Shawn! However, Lyght is the second defender to win the @Tewaaraton. Rachael (Becker) DeCecco won in 2003. While Lyght is the first male defender, or first defender in the men’s game, to win a Tewaaraton, he is not the first defender to win the award. @ILWomen
@danarestia Congrats to Shawn! However, the first defender to win a Tewaaraton is Rachael Becker (Princeton, 2003). Saying that Lyght is the “first defenseman”, “first male defender”, or “first defender in the men’s gam” to win the award would be accurate, but not simply “first defender”.
@LeadingEdgeLax@NDlacrosse@Tewaaraton Congrats to Shawn! An important clarification, there have been two defensive players to win the Tewaaraton previously (defender Rachael Becker in 2003, goalie Megan Taylor in 2019). Lyght is the first male defender to win the Tewaaraton. Congrats, Shawn!
@CoachMcCreary@wulax25@NDlacrosse@princetonwlax@Tewaaraton But making the clarification that he is the first defenseman/male defender to win the Tewaaraton is an important distinction. Saying he is the first defender to win a Tewaaraton is not wholly accurate. First men’s game defender, yes, but Becker won a Tewaaraton in 2003.
@espn The first defender to win a Tewaaraton is Rachael (Becker) DeCecco for @princetonwlax in 2003. Lyght is the first male defender to win the award. A great accomplishment for both, but let’s not forget about @rachael_dececco!
UNC head coach Jenny Levy wants more transparency regarding two overturned UNC goals — one that would have put it up 10-7, and the other which would have tied the game at 12-12.
“I’m not looking at the review and I haven’t looked at the film, but it seems to me that we have a lot of work to do with our game. It’s unfortunate.
They didn’t give us an explanation on what it was. We clearly saw on our iPads what it was, so probably disagreed with that. I thought that those were momentum-changing decisions and I thought that our team had to battle through that, and we didn’t do as well as we could.”
While negotiating the retired player recognition payments for the new CBA, Tina Charles brought up the idea that, if a retired player is deceased, their beneficiary should receive the payment. That made it into the final agreement. Just one aspect of the rich legacy she left off the court in lifting up others
Great story from friend and legendary coach Brian Cosgriff: Amaya Battle and Nia Coffey are now both with the Lynx. Well, Nia used to babysit Amaya when she was in 2nd grade and bring her to Hopkins basketball camp. #LosLynx
