BYU's 26-4 record since the start of 2024 is incredible.

It's the fourth best 30-game record in program history. Here are the ones above it.

1) 29-1 from game 2 of 1983 - game 6 of 1985 highlighted by the 1984 Natty.

2) 28-2 from game 1 of 1979 through game 5 of 1981. The beginning of a dominating era for Cougar Football.

3) 27-3 from game 4 of 2006 through game 7 of 2008. The four year span from 2006-09 was awesome.

4) 26-4 in this current run from the start of 2024. This is in a power league. It should probably be weighed differently.

1. So impressed with LJ Martins vision on this run .. most backs cut back to the right on this inside zone and get a 1v1 with the nickel which you may or may not win, but even if you win that 1v1.. because you move laterally, you may not house this b/c of the pursuit…instead he picks the inside crease and accelerates linearly rather than laterally and breaks off a 55 yd TD.

2. How about JoJo Phillips’ and Legend Glasker’s selfless play and downfield blocking? Right culture permeates through this team led by Kalani.

Funny thing about all of this…

After chanting “F--- the Mormons,” CSU proceeded to get EFF-YOU-SEE-KADE UP by the Mormons on the football field.. 41-23. 😂 and many of the CSU fans chanting left before halftime..

And the margin of victory could have been worse..

Drake is spot on though. At some point we have to stop pretending these are isolated incidents.

USC. Oregon. Providence. Arizona. Colorado. Cincinnati. Oklahoma State. Now Colorado State.

Different schools. Different states. Different years. Same type of religious hostility directed at Latter-day Saints.

This ain't new ladies and gents..

I played football at BYU once upon a time. I remember hearing this stuff on the road in 2006 at Arizona, TCU and Boston College. I was surprised by it then, but mostly brushed it off. “Just dumb fans.” Whatever. We had a football game to play.

Twenty years later, we’re still hearing versions of the same thing.

You can hate BYU. You can hate the football team. You can criticize the LDS Church. That’s all fair game.

But thousands of people chanting “F--- the Mormons” isn’t normal rivalry trash talk.

We’ve seen the same cycle over and over. It happens. The school apologizes. Everyone condemns it. A few days later we move on. Then it happens somewhere else.

Maybe brushing it off for all these years is part of the problem.

When religious bigotry gets dismissed as harmless fan behavior, it normalizes hostility and lowers empathy toward the people being targeted.

There needs to be a standard, and that standard shouldn’t change depending on which religion is on the receiving end.

“F--- the Catholics.”

“F--- the Jews.”

“F--- the Muslims.”

“F--- the Mormons.”

All of it is despicable.

Was this good enough? Yes. BYU covered -17.5.

Is it a dominate performance for those who didn't watch? The 23 points allowed doesn't suggest that.

Will it affect BYU in the polls potentially? I don't think it will that much or at all.

BYU was up 38-7 at the 9:29 mark of the 3rd when the starters were in.

Did the BYU backups get a ton of film of stuff they've gotta clean up? Unfortunately yes.

Did BYU keep the starters healthy? Also yes.
