Gender dysphoria is scary, especially when you’re young and already confused about everything.

You don’t just dislike your body. You start treating it like a mistake you’re trapped inside. The mirror feels wrong. The breasts don’t belong. The face is too soft. The voice is wrong.

That feeling never shuts up. It tells you that you’re not masculine enough. That being a woman means weakness. That if you were really honest with yourself, you’d change.

Then another voice shows up, constantly nagging at you: hormones, surgery, a new name, a new life. Why stay in a body that feels like a cage?

You start thinking you’ll never look like the person you feel like inside. You’ll always be almost. So you start bargaining with yourself.

Flatten this. Lower your voice. Become harder. Become smaller. Become less.

Maybe then it’ll stop.

The urges. The discomfort. The self hatred.

And eventually, the thought starts feeling like the most honest thought you’ve ever had. Like the only way out is to change your body, rather than question the thought itself.

That’s what makes gender dysphoria so frightening. It doesn’t always feel like a thought you’re having.

Sometimes, it feels like the truth.

🇱🇻 Latvia’s State Border Guard says newly installed surveillance infrastructure along the country’s eastern border has been deliberately sabotaged.

Cables have been cut, distribution cabinets damaged and surveillance equipment targeted in what Border Guard chief Guntis Pujāts describes as “not random vandalism” but targeted action intended to disrupt border monitoring and delay deployment.

Latvian authorities describe the wider activity along the Russian and Belarusian borders as aggressor-state-supported provocations.

No individual perpetrators have publicly been identified.

Latvia's National Armed Forces have issued an alert over a possible threat to Latvian airspace in Krāslava municipality, near the country's eastern border.

NATO Baltic Air Policing fighters have been activated in response.
