Going to be honest, the last few weeks I have been really struggling with my mental health. The sole reason I attempted the ultra marathon was to try and keep my mind busy and keep motivation up. No idea why I’m feeling so down as everything is completely fine in my life/family at the moment but I guess this is the reality of mental health.

You would think that doing talks about mental health and trying to help others I would have needed to have overcome my struggles but truth is I have and still do suffer with depression/ OCD and just recently it’s started to get to me again.

Wanted to do this post as a lot of people out there that have gotten better but they still do struggle. It is completely normal, mental health never really leaves but it can get better- we just need to keep speaking about it ❤️

Ilkeston Town FC is thrilled to announce the launch of the Ilkeston Town Football Academy, an exciting new partnership with the esteemed Gascoigne Elliott Academy (G3A). This collaboration offers a premier development program for aspiring young athletes aged 16 to 19 who are looking to progress in football while pursuing a nationally recognised BTEC Level 3 qualification.

The G3A team has successfully operated an academy program on the Microlise New Manor Ground over the past two years. Now, through this joint venture, players can access a clear, structured pathway to potentially join the Ilkeston Town first team, creating more opportunities than ever for promising young talent to make their mark.

Tom Elliott, co-founder of G3A, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are delighted to be working with Ilkeston Town Football Club and can’t wait to start looking for the next player superstar.”

Andrew Nally, Chairman of Ilkeston Town, highlighted the significance of the academy’s launch: “This venture represents the next chapter in this famous club’s history, and we are excited to see what talent we can nurture and develop in a professional environment. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be announcing other exciting news that will further cement our plans for the club’s future. It’s a very exciting time to be around the club, and our next key announcement will reinforce my commitment to the academy and the future of Ilkeston Town FC.”
