We've identified PCS electronics in pre-2026 Cybertrucks that do not meet our reliability standards and have made design changes to address this in newer vehicles.

Next steps for existing owners:
– Model year 2026: PCS warranty is now standard at 7 years/70k miles
– Model year 2024/2025: PCS warranty extended to 8 years/150k miles

Starting in the next few weeks, we will reimburse any charges for those who already required a PCS replacement and paid out of pocket.

We're working hard on increasing supply chain availability of this improved version.

As an immediate remedy, we've rolled out a software update so you can keep Supercharging even if a PCS failure occurs, and have enabled free Supercharging for trucks waiting for part availability

@Rivian My wife’s Tesla lease is coming to an end, and since we love our Model Y with FSD, we knew the bar would be high. However, we were genuinely intrigued by the upcoming Rivian R2 and decided to give Rivian a fair chance today. We walked in as highly motivated buyers looking for a viable alternative. Unfortunately, this first-time experience with Rivian left a permanent bad taste in our mouths.

From the moment we arrived, the entire environment felt incredibly cold and sterile. Worse than the atmosphere, though, was the staff. The sales agents were downright rude. It felt like an absolute chore for them to talk to us, and they made it abundantly clear that they did not want to deal with us at all. There was zero effort to engage, answer questions, or show off the vehicle.

We understand that modern EV buying involves a lot of automation—Tesla has mastered that—but when you actually interact with a person at Tesla, the service is decent, professional, and helpful. Rivian's staff couldn't even manage basic politeness.

The market has no shortage of great EV options right now. While the R2 is an interesting vehicle on paper, a company cannot survive on product design alone if the frontline customer experience is this toxic. If this is how Rivian treats potential buyers trying to hand them money, I can only imagine how awful the post-purchase customer service is.

Thanks to the dismissive and rude team today, we’ve decided we are much better off sticking with Tesla. Disappointing, unprofessional, and entirely missed the mark.
