IMF Executive Board has approved the Fifth Review of Ghana’s performance under its three-year Extended Credit Facility (ECF) programme, marking another major milestone in the country’s economic recovery.

The approval paves the way for the disbursement of about US$380 million, bringing total IMF support under the programme to US$2.8 billion.

In its decision, the Board commended Ghana for strong programme performance, highlighting significant progress in debt restructuring, disciplined fiscal and monetary policy implementation, and steady advances in governance reforms!

This is clear confirmation that Ghana is firmly resetting for growth, jobs, and economic transformation.

For example, the IMF did not predict JM and the NDC would ensure the fastest reduction of our debt iceberg ( almost 20% in a year) in history, the drastic appreciation of the cedi, successful tightening of public expenditure, drastic reduction of corruotion, a huge reduction in a bloated, incompetent and wasteful size of govermment- from 126 to 59, saving the country almost 3bn in wages and ex-gratia payments over 4 years.
