@Exoticca Sent two emails with no response. 8 minute hold for a phone call. Will book my trip for 6 people elsewhere. Been on 2 previous trips and loved them. Oh, well.
@wmata Closing the bus stop at 9/H NW — the closest non-express stop to the central library — may be efficient for ridiculous timetable goals, but is NOT EFFICIENT for the people whom use the service. Instead of solving the root problems, you only create more. @AdamTuss@ANC2C01
Today’s Afro-Latino fest is…fine. But I went a couple years ago at Meridian Hill/ Malcolm X park and it was off the hook fun and way more crowded. Just accept people want to be in our great neighborhoods!
I really think the worst part of this is having everything having to be govt run and branded. It’s always the “@MayorBowser invites you to the Mayor Muriel Bowser presents… festival” and you show up and half the people are wearing Green Team shirts. Strips away all authenticity.
@ScottGoldstein 100%. It’s the reason I’m holding off presenting a 2-day arts event. The ones I do in affluent suburbs bring in 30k+ people. They are nuts if the city thinks they’re going to own my work.
The WORST cultural trend in DC is @MayorBowser forcing every once great festival to be downtown and run by govt. Caribbean Day on Georgia-gone. Fiesta DC-a sterilized Penn Ave version of its former Mt Pleasant magic. The Afro Latino Fest was in Malcolm X Park-now Franklin Park :(
.@ATT Just found out that my overpriced Unlimited Elite plan's QCI was reduced from 7 to 8. No one can tell me what (if any) plans have QCI-7. Pretty pissed that my priority was cut WITHOUT NOTICE. Maybe it's time to finally switch.
@GiantFood Your associates wont have to worry about their safety when there are no customers. There are other, more effective ways to minimize theft, but until they are initiated, I will shop elsewhere.
Today I stopped being a @GiantFood customer after over 50 years. No hand baskets, and I cannot bring in a shopping bag? I’ll go anywhere else and pay more to avoid the “anti-theft” policies that only deter shopping.
