TOUCHDOWN FALCONS

Facing fourth-and-5 after a false start, Woodard pitches on the option to Ryland Kreie again, just like in the first half, for a 4-yard touchdown. The two-point try is no good.

Council Grove will receive the second-half kick needing sharper execution up front and at quarterback with Stewart.

Riley County needs to lean on Kreie and Woodard to sustain drives and keep the Braves’ offense off the field.

TOUCHDOWN BRAVES!

A crucial answer for Council Grove. Facing third-and-goal from the 30 after back-to-back holding calls, Stewart escapes the pocket and finds Dillon McDiffett in the end zone through double coverage.

We’re scoreless after one quarter. Council Grove came up empty on fourth-and-goal from the 4 as Stewart’s pass sailed too deep.

Riley County is now on the move as the second quarter begins.

Both teams take the field beneath a beautiful sunset.

The Braves win the toss and defer, so Riley County will receive the opening kickoff.

Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson remains listed as “questionable” on the Thursday Big 12 availability report. K-State is preparing to play at Arizona State on Saturday. Johnson status after suffering an undisclosed injury against Kansas is truly questionable.
