It’s strange, almost surreal to watch this unfold.

Within a week, Ozymandias slipped from its perfect 10/10 IMDb rating to review bombing.

Now, to be fair, it isn’t quite right to place Ozymandias on the same scale as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode “In the Name of the Mother.”

Ozymandias has stood firm for over a decade, weathering waves of rewatches, critical essays, new audiences, and shifting tastes. A week-old episode, no matter how powerful, hasn’t yet endured that same test. And yet, in the age of instant reactions and algorithm-driven discourse, comparisons are inevitable.

Maybe that’s the quiet truth about art today: no rating is frozen. At times, it’s even bruised by toxic fan culture, where admiration becomes rivalry, and scores turn into battlegrounds of ego and insecurity rather than honest reflection.

But here’s what doesn’t recalibrate:

Legacy.

Ratings change.
Legacy settles deeper with time.

Nothing tops Ozymandias. Period.
