No one believes me when I say this, but the decline in reading is already having dire consequences for art & culture. The media you loved in your youth—shows, albums, films—was made by artists who were widely read. You will not have that quality of art in a post-literate world.
@EsotericCD Instead I might ask: Will George Clinton and James Fauntleroy come do features if you *don't* give them writing credits?
Will Thundercat spend a year making a record with you if he *doesn't* get writing credit?
@EsotericCD re: Kendrick- Hip-Hop has been fundamentally collaborative, back since its inception.
And re: both Taylor and Kendrick, a writing credit can mean a wider range of contributions than it used to. I would not necessarily read into it that these artists *need* all the writers.

Lot of words here to just say that the Never Trumpers were always right about Trump's temprament rendering him totally unfit for the awesome power of the presidency.
@zachdcarter I believe it happens, 100%. But I can also say with near-certainty it's not infiltrating the major centers of the professional music industry.
This is how Trump got elected the first time.
But Democrats need to think long and hard about how he got elected the second.
The reality is the Biden Administration SHOULD have modeled responsible problem solving as a contrast to what Trump was. But it didn't.
@AlecMacGillis Gotta say, I bought a new Corolla Hybrid, payments are *well* under that average. People might want more car than that but very few people *need* more car than that. There's no reason to spend $40k-$50k on a vehicle if you can't afford it.
@ajlamesa Yes, but, at least in NYC, my local precinct has no interest in enforcement. My council member doesn't treat it as a priority (staffers have said this over the phone). My state assembly rep acknowledges the problem and has at least co-sponsored the Super Speeders bill.
A person with normal epistemic humility would say, "I was mistaken when I concluded that a Trump vote would make war with Iran less likely." That is in fact what happened.
