@Komaniecki_R At some places where I teach, the attendance policy (including the exact language) is mandated by the school so individual instructors do not have control over it.

Went to the Paulson Center for the first time yesterday and it's such an amazing building. Half a floor just for percussion. Beautiful ensemble space. So many sound proof practice rooms.

Relativism is all well and good until a student composer fails their recital and asks the faculty how we can judge his works because isn't all music composition subjective.
I'm not saying I agree with James Young, but all the dunking from knee-jerk relativists annoys me. Young has made an interesting claim backed up with a serious argument. That's why it merits publication.
