Great open house today for our Marine Mechanical Design students and Naval Architecture students at the Marine Institute, Memorial University. Lots of interest from future employers. Also great to see past graduates visiting and showing their support for our programs.
Our Marine Mechanical Design students had a great tour of NewDock Shipyard in St. John’s today. What a great experience for our students to see the operation of a working shipyard right in our backyard. As well as talk to former graduates of our program about their careers.
Check out our 3rd Year Marine Mechanical Design student Jordan and his thoughts on our program. Lots of jobs in the shipbuilding industry. @NLSchoolsCA https://t.co/h2v64QwRwY
Great way to spend a Friday afternoon working with our 2nd year Marine Mechanical Design students at the @marineinstitute We were in the propulsion lab today walking through an engine room and even setting the engine on fire to see the high fog system in action. @NLSchoolsCA
Gotta keep those motors humming! Two more of the CCGS Sir Wilfrid Laurier’s engines are removed to continue its vessel life extension work. That’s some heavy lifting, @Seaspan! 💪
Our 3rd year students using the propulsion simulator to walk through an engine room today. Seeing what it’s like for the people who work in the engine rooms we design. Check out the Marine Mechanical Design Program at the @marineinstitute@NLSchoolsCA@NLTeachersAssoc
