It takes me 6 weeks to build a custom playground. It takes me 2 weeks to build the same custom playground, if we had a collection of components to choose from, which i do now.
Systems may take 3x longer to set up than doing it manually, but save you 300x time in the long run.
Every Thursday my 4 head of depts and I meet for WIP and we update about projects, problems, triumphs, solutions. We look forward to this weekly system because it's at the same time, on the same day, at the same place - every week. We take it for granted, and that's why it works.
My dad used to have this chores reward system for me as a kid. I've now started the same thing with my 6yo son.
One thing's clear: when he's reminded to track his points, he is regulated through the day. When I don't remind him, his temper returns.
Systems support emotions.
@danmurrayserter Is it possible to build better and more sustainable habits by ourselves? Or do we need other people to help us? Like face to face ppl and not just the internet 🤣
@mattyap145 Just thinking of being more useful on the internet lol. I'm thinking of sharing experiences and tips on how systemization has helped my business grow, helped my relationship stay strong and helped my kids build character
Hello World! I'd like to start giving value to the internet. I'm wondering what I should share. I feel like I'm good at reverse engineering, thinking through my hands, and sharing pointless memes.
@mattyap145 Bro great idea..I'll do that, but maybe I'll keep that to ig tho.. I post more about my actual makerspace and playground business stuff there.. I'm wondering, maybe I'll share more of my other passion hobbies here... Anything else recognize me for?
Everyday we make a choice: we can create the system that everyone emulates, or we can be the system that everyone relies on.
One allows you to scale, the other makes you pale.
