Busy people are not interested in free lunches and agenda-less get-to-know-you meetings in their 9-5. Be specific in your request. Why do you want to meet? Is there any prep either party should do prior?
@theasnow I'm no fan of IP either. But not all discourses are equal. Some produce much more skilled practitioners than others. In that case, the "how" is not so separate from the original thinking
@camerontw@ScottMorrisonMP@TurnbullMalcolm It would be hard to imagine a government less concerned with maintaining the status quo... Including making no efforts to educate themselves on anything that might constitute progress
In summary...
Aus Prime Minister: continuing to burn coal is a good idea
Independent investors: based on economic modelling, we'll invest $8bn to help Australia's biggest energy firm grow renewables

@theasnow Yes. However, applying an adult developmental lens (eg Kegan), we might find that what is called "binary" by some is the way others see the world. I reckon curiosity around worldview and sensemaking is more productive than labelling a position as binary
@camerontw Ah yes. Not really. Kind of. They're useful in the context of ontological design – designing contexts – which I've not exactly used in SD, but believe would make service design much more effective for anyone wanting to implement org or system-wide changes
I just added my name to this emergency appeal for climate action by Greta, Vanessa, Mitzi, and Dominika. Sign now and share, and they'll deliver our voices directly to governments at the @COP26 climate summit. https://t.co/pQKXl05Z2C
@LukeCraven Very good, though I wonder if the language of systems change encourages thinking about systems as external "things", rather than encouraging conversations with people who are part of systems... which in my experience is where change comes from
@theasnow Curious to know if you're suggesting that improvements would be to simply measure more useful things, or if you think there are some important things that evade simple measurement?
The origins of the design thinking method "round robin". I was aware of this in europe, but not in Japan. Funny to think that modern boardroom "creative thinking" draws on an old practice of collective solidarity.
In Japan's Edo Period (1603-1868), when impoverished peasants finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to revolt, they would sign their list of demands with all their names in a big circle.
The had specific reasons for doing this...

@theasnow@CassieRobinson @EmRoseBaz I'm trained in ontological coaching. I found it when looking for an approach that embraced the complexity of being human and offered a kind of "architecture of being". I've found it to be as powerful working with individuals as with groups. Happy to share more if interested
@camerontw Design is a commercial activity. Talking about Ontological design is not! For me, it's a sense of offering seeds of possibility for change beyond imposition of worldviews or the powerlessness of applying a design methodology based on things to humans and hoping for change
@camerontw Thanks for sharing this. I continue to teach HCD to corporate clients. Meanwhile I'm starting to facilitate conversations about Ontological design in the hope that it finds a place in professional practice...
