You have coded the UI 100%, yet you did not match the exact design. 

Tell them this when they ask why?

My brother, I understand your pain and struggle, but I wish their other ways, but there is not.

My usual approach is to explain the technical challenges we might face if we follow their design exactly. Then, I present how my solution could be more robust and better handle those potential issues.
