'Human Rights Commission Welcomes ‘A’ Status Accreditation' @NIHRC
Chief Commissioner Alyson Kilpatrick: “We are delighted that the Commission has been re-accredited as an ‘A’ status National Human Rights Institution after a lengthy deferral. This reflects some recent reassurance as to our funding arrangements.
We will continue to press for long-term financial sustainability which is essential to our independence and ability to fulfil the important job we were established for and have been doing for 25 years.”

#WednesdayWisdom from Heaney and a message to the @HouseofCommons and @chhcalling today.
We need and deserve the governance we pay for. Cuts to our most vulnerable children, families and communities is not the solution; it is exacerbating the impact of political dereliction
Tonight finished our 3 week programme on Agreement 25. Avila Kilmurray @SCI_Belfast gave a comprehensive presentation followed by a reflective conversation on the play they attended @LyricBelfast Local women and local stories shared #powerful@nirwnnews@WSN_NI@WRDA_team@NIWEP
For the record, I support the strikes today. We need staff paid properly, working in decent conditions to teach our children and provide core services - it's essential for all our futures.
Very excited to be working with @QUBelfast PGCE to bring FREE revision sessions to ALL students in NI! This is what's on offer so far, with more to come. We believe all students should have equal opportunities and equal access - and that definitely includes help with exams!
Really grateful to be invited to speak at NI Anti-Poverty Network’s AGM on @WRC_NI research on women, debt & the Cost of Living Crisis. We need @niassembly back & progress on an Anti-Poverty Strategy urgently to help the many women, children & families impacted by poverty ⬇️
Only came back on Wednesday from the most positive and inclusive celebration as Finland became ice hockey world champions. Now this. What will it take to bring this place forward???
@rebekahmccabe_@RebeccaWatter Something similar has been used to support children with dyslexia - helped my now 15yo massively after major trauma with phonetics, which really doesn't work for everyone
I urgently call on the Taliban to respect the full human rights of women and girls in #Afghanistan.
Women’s and girls’ independent freedom of movement, right to work and access to education to the highest level must be restored immediately.

Love international reporting on #AE22. Flicked past Euronews and it has NI as a state with a parliament.. and then moves on to talk about 'the province'..
@rachelwoods52@GreenPartyNI Thank you so much for all your work Rachel! It's a huge loss to the Assembly, but we'll keep working with the groundbreaking law you secured, which indeed will save lives.
