@fvsch@jonsneyers The strange thing is, most of DNG is metadata from the camera describing how to interpret the pixels that are stored inside.
JXL could store that metadata using the same EXIF/XMP tags (compressed too), and has a dedicated channel type for CFA data, but it isn't used in DNG...
@jyzg Bayer is stored with 672x752 for lossy at d 0.2 and lossless
Linear is stored 400x432 at distance 0.5
All with effort 7, decode speed 4
Encode options are stored as metadata
This is from my testing on the Discord server, I'll ping you the message there too.
@jyzg Adobe's implementation stores 672x752 lossless jxl tiles... For some reason...
It seems like they only changed the codec from lossless jpeg to JXL without any consideration for the format itself, or the reserved Color Filter Array channel type made to store Bayer images as RGB(G)
@_felix_wolf_@Dexerto I dug into it and the exterior is 1.2 million LED pucks, with the interior being made of actual displays but both are apparently 16K x 16 K resolution
It would've been useful if they actually linked to the post

@jyzg All we can do is try to inform people and correct misinformation. One issue is that JXL and jpegli are so good that my friends don't believe it's true, until I show them my results live
@MegavoltService We work with what we've got, sometimes it's a lot, sometimes it's only each other. Neither of you should've had to go through that, but I'm glad I could be around once in a while to try and bring some joy back during those dark weeks.
