Just some thoughts this morning. PLEASE don’t hear this as judgemental if you decide a different route is what’s best for your kids. The most important thing is to recognize that parents know what’s best for THEIR kids.
@elonmusk Got my dad a used model Y with FSD. Unfortunately, the previous owner had beta revoked due to infractions. There seems to be no way for my dad to opt back in to the beta program. Am I missing something?
I understand why some parents boast about their kids’ accomplishments. It’s only natural.
But, I’m realizing the biggest parenting flex is the ability to say “My kids are well rested, free from anxiety, eat real food, and get to play for hours outside each day.”
My mom has created a really cool (365 day) chronological Bible study. If reading and understanding scripture is part of your 2023 goals, this is a great way to do it. Sign up today at https://t.co/kA7oboz9Cv and start getting a daily email reading tomorrow!
In my 20s I had to learn to own things. My decisions control my life. In my 30s, I’ve had to learn to let go of things. Other peoples actions/decisions are not mine to own (or worry about).
@jonsteingard I believe that all humans are less resilient. Over the course of all humanity, there is only a super small time where we haven’t had to face great adversities in order just to survive. We need to seek adversity these days. Hence my daily 34° ice bath for 4 mins. 🥶
@jonsteingard @NMcsecretpants Appreciate you! Wish you could come have a beer with the guys in my small group. They would love you… guessing you’d love them too. Seriously good dudes… in an incredibly flawed kinda way :)
@NMcsecretpants @jonsteingard Of course I didn’t expect this specifically. But, I expect flawed people to share their flaws. The church is still an amazing place that has helped me and my family in many ways. It’s filled with the most generous, loving, and fun people I’ve ever met.
@NMcsecretpants @jonsteingard I see your point. However, I attend what in my opinion is a very Christ centered church. It has great, humble, biblical teaching… And thoughtful community. A few years ago, we had an issue of child abuse in one of the Elementary Sunday school classes.
