@TherealNihal SUV owners don’t pay Road Tax to a Road Fund. Road Tax and the Road Fund were abolished in 1937. VED doesn’t go to roads. It just goes into the government’s general coffers.

@sweeneysalford Early 90s, I bought a Vauxhall Cavalier off a bloke at work for £50. It came with a full tank of petrol worth £20. At that price point, that's quite significant. :)

@bbctms Re man-marking, in the 1966 World Cup Final, Bobby Charlton and Franz Beckenbauer were ordered to man-mark each other by their respective managers (Alf Ramsey and Helmut Schoen). Must have been a bit weird.
