Over the course of a lifetime, we face only a few moments where the decisions we make and the actions we take will shape our history for years to come. This is one of them.
davos wasn’t about trump’s speech.
it was about allies concluding they can’t rely on the united states anymore.
that’s not anti-american.
it’s strategic reality.

Back in 2008, we put club-level DJing in peoples pockets with Pacemaker®, but iPhone changed everything. Decoded Magazine did a deep dive on what happened – timing, hardware vs software. https://t.co/Rlg87JJB9G #musictech
Huge thanks to @DamionPell and Decoded Mag for revisiting this chapter.
For those saying that President Zelenskyy just should have been silent, I disagree with for a simple reason. Ukraine did this in the past more than once. This was about the vital question of security guarantees. This key component as seen in Minsk 1 and Minsk 2 (and btw. even in the Astana agreement in reference to Syria) was missing in all previous failed attempts, and directly contributed in the lack of achieving even a stable ceasefire, let alone peace. This is not a minor detail or technicality. It is the key feature between lasting ceasefire or not. Russia only responds to force and no deal will ever be sufficient in deterring Russia. The pile of failed deals with Russia is only exceeded by the piles of bodies being victim of them. Only force and credible deterrent will ensure meta-stable conditions. You cannot blank it out or postpone it. (3/7)
Grok says:
“The statement "The AfD policies are identical to those of the US Democratic Party when Obama took office!" is **not accurate**. Here's a breakdown based on available information:
**Immigration:**
- **AfD (Alternative for Germany):** The AfD has taken a strong anti-immigration stance, advocating for stricter immigration controls and often criticizing what they see as "uncontrolled" immigration. This contrasts sharply with the policies under President Obama, where the administration supported more open immigration policies, including the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which provided temporary protection from deportation for certain undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children.
**Climate Change:**
- **AfD:** The party has been known for its skepticism towards climate change, with some members outright denying its human causation. In contrast, during Obama's presidency, there was a push for climate action, including the Paris Agreement, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions globally.
**Economic Policies:**
- **AfD:** Generally advocates for lower taxes, less government intervention in the economy, and has been critical of the Eurozone, showing a preference for economic nationalism. The Democratic Party under Obama, however, supported policies that included stimulus spending to revive the economy, healthcare reform (Affordable Care Act), and regulatory measures like Dodd-Frank to control financial sectors.
**Social Issues:**
- **AfD:** Tends to hold conservative views on social issues, including opposition to multiculturalism and some forms of progressive social policies. On the other hand, Obama's administration was noted for advancing progressive social policies, including support for same-sex marriage, the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" for military service, and broader civil rights protections.
**Healthcare:**
- **AfD:** While not explicitly outlined in the search results, the party's more conservative leanings would generally oppose the expansive government role in healthcare, like the Affordable Care Act under Obama, which expanded healthcare coverage significantly.
**Foreign Policy:**
- **AfD:** Has expressed a more isolationist or critical stance towards international cooperation and organizations like the EU, whereas Obama's foreign policy included international engagement, such as the Iran nuclear deal and the pivot to Asia.
**Education and Social Services:**
- There are vast differences in approach here; AfD generally opposes extensive government-funded social services, while Obama's Democrats worked on expanding education funding and social welfare programs.
Given these significant differences in policy areas, it's clear that the AfD's policies do not align with those of the Democratic Party under President Obama's administration. The sentiment on X platforms also reflects this discrepancy, with users noting the contrast between the two.
Therefore, the statement you've provided does not hold up to factual scrutiny.”
@grok says “Homelessness is often not caused by one single issue but rather a confluence of several of these factors. Addressing it requires a multi-faceted approach that includes economic support, mental health services, addiction treatment, and systemic changes to housing policy.”
