@AgitPropWars@KarenFOrlando@bluegeorgia It’s amazing what “safety” can do to people who have historically been attacked for being themselves - it allows them to come out & be authentic. The same trend happened in people who were left-handed, which also used to be viewed negatively by society. Stop attacking people
@FrankLuntz Kinda interesting. But living in NYC I know that the food here is MUCH more expensive, so the actual dollars paid to servers in NYC is much higher. Also a lot of those tippers in cities like NYC and SF are actually from out of town. If you could isolate natives, I bet it’s higher
@kissmeaIlover@kyry5 You may not want to watch it, but it wouldn’t be for you. And it is a story that needs to continue to be told (along with others) until no gay kid/man has to go through what he’s gone through. Last I checked we’re not thru it yet
@charlespbrown@kyry5 At least in this instance he’ll hopefully be portraying what straight religious Americans NEED to see: that being gay is not a curse, that love can be found in gay relationships, that gays are humans too. And the fact that many know him already will help that message not hurt it
@charlespbrown@kyry5 I still don’t see the issue. He’s a reality star - why do you expect him to act differently than any other reality star just because he’s gay? He’s using what he’s got to get attention and stay in the spotlight. Every celebrity of any rank does this.
@kyry5 It would be great if they highlighted the interactions with the women he manipulated to get their side of the story and the pain/damage he caused, as well as have him confront those who caused him damage. That is what we need to see
@kyry5 And he did suffer real trauma at the hands of his family and friends and religion and is in some way trying to make up for it and move on from it. Whereas many other reality stars literally are garbage and just get paid to continue to be garbage
@NBCNewsNow you didn’t talk over Vice President Biden, but you did talk over President Trump. No offense, but your commentary is not more important than what he has to say. You can correct all you want after he is done. You’ve completely shown your bias—not your desire for truth
@IKEAUSA thank you - two different calls where I waited an hour to speak with someone, and my issue is still unresolved. Can you please have someone call me?
...Accepting that any person, at any time, could be racist will allow you to separate who you are from the affects of your actions/inactions, and see that “being a racist” or “being an antiracist” is a choice you get (and need) to make every day. #racism#antiracism
If you think “being a racist” is the worst thing you could possibly be, then you will do everything you can to convince yourself that your behavior is “not racist”...
Your outrage about Ellen Degeneres: You forget that her sitting by him is how you view it. People on his side of the aisle will see him sitting next to her. That is an image that people who don’t like or understand LGBTQ people need to see. GEORGE BUSH IS FRIENDS WITH A LESBIAN
