Thank you for the reply and explanation. I know this is a difficult subject to navigate.
You’re right that what people hear matters, often more than the intention. Right now many are hearing a strong push to “flip an election” and that voting conservative is required to be an obedient Christian.
I’ve personally seen many people, almost all conservatives, run off from the church by this newfound political emphasis. It makes the gospel feel secondary. That’s my main concern.
Out of curiosity, do you now disagree with what Pastor Steve said? Does his reasoning for staying more apolitical no longer hold up?
Have a safe trip!
Short answer: No, the current Euphrates drought doesn’t appear to fulfill the Revelation prophecies (the 6th Trumpet or 6th Bowl), especially since the preceding judgments and massive global events haven’t occurred yet. The same arguments were made back in 2009 when the river was also at record lows. It’s still fascinating to watch world events through a biblical lens. Clear explanation here:

@howertonjosh It’s alarming to see secret service fired upon. And I’m praying that the child involved in the crossfire isn’t seriously hurt. But thankfully the VP appears not to have been involved. No shots fired at the motorcade according to secret service.
