@JennyHallJones@ohiou Being from out of state and having family over 4 hours away is tough. Try to make a plan to call once a week. It helps a lot. Spend time with your friends here because I bet some of them miss their family and can’t see them either.
@MUCTM_@Bobby_Knurek If you’re okay telling telling a neighbor or your grandparents I think students can handle it. I know I’m middle school I heard some interesting stories. But they all meant a lot when I thought back on them.
A3: As teachers we should ask our students their interest. And we can decide what is appropriate and professional to use or enact. If you have some athletes in the classroom relate to them. If you have fans of music you should relate to them!#octmchat
@MUCTM_ I have always found music to be a big thing! Usually most students can agree on a genre of music. So maybe as a way to get the day started play some music they like. But maybe as you cut off the music the attention goes to you. I saw this work for 7th graders! #octmchat
@MUCTM_ Of course! Some adults could be more strict and to the point. While other adults could be more passive and act more as a guide. We all know teachers could be the lecturing type, and we also have the conversationalists.
A1: Professionalism is being formal and polite in an area of work. For teaching that means looking, acting, and speaking like an adult. That doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with what we do! #octmchat
Shoutout to the boys for a BEAUTIFUL showing!!
