To prevent the “silent thief of sight,” eye specialists have urged Nigerians to take proactive steps toward protecting their vision.
A Consultant Ophthalmologist at Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja, Dr Adaora Chinwendu Okudo, alongside the Chief Medical Director of the National Eye Center Kaduna, Dr Amina Hassan Wali, encouraged Nigerians to undergo regular eye examinations.
According to them, yearly eye checks are essential for the early detection and proper management of Glaucoma, a condition often referred to as the “silent thief of sight”.
They emphasized that early diagnosis and treatment remain the most effective ways to prevent permanent loss of sight.
