Justin Gaethje completes perhaps the greatest Cinderella story of all time.
At 37 years old, he finally becomes the Undisputed Lightweight Champion.
He defeats an undefeated phenom at the biggest UFC event of all time.
Justin Gaethje lost back to back UFC fights at the beginning, lost to Khabib, lost to prime Charles Oliveira, lost to Max Holloway, and still never gave up.
Against one of the best young fighters of this era, against all the odds, finally, Justin Ray Gaethje is an undisputed UFC champion 🏆
A dog failed his service dog exam, and was later seen at a train station carrying the reason why.
People at the station couldn’t stop staring when the dog walked onto the train with a stuffed elephant held proudly in his mouth.
At first, everyone thought it was part of his training.
But his owner started laughing and explained the truth.
The dog had been training to become a service dog, but during one of his final tests, he kept getting distracted by an elephant plushie nearby. Instead of staying focused, he tried to steal it like it was the only thing in the room that mattered.
That was the moment he failed.
But his owner said he couldn’t be mad. The dog had tried his best, and even if he wasn’t meant to be a service dog, he was still loyal, gentle, and full of love.
So before they left, he bought him the elephant toy.
That night, the dog didn’t pass the exam, but he still went home with the person who chose him anyway.
This was one of the best rides of my life. I felt locked in fight night. No fear just focused positive adrenaline.
Love to my team. 🥹
My heart is heavy, I wanted to throw, battle, win, but I kicked when I should have moved and was down and done. If I hadn’t tapped she would’ve broken my arm, as it had begun to crackle.
The disappointment of losing like that is very humbling.
@JonnyBones and @cainmma came up to my table after the fight. They set my mind straight.
Jon said, “You haven’t fought in 17 years? Do you know how big your balls have to be to get back in there after that long? Did you set some sort of record or something? Respect!” 🤣 That’s exactly what I needed to hear from the best to ever to do it.
I’ve been in a caloric deficit for a year, training felt like swimming as hard as I could upstream. I can count on two hands the number of times I felt good training. It was physically the hardest thing I’ve ever done taking the weight off while turning back into an athlete. I felt like a science experiment losing 100lbs. Every week the pressure of how to get that little bit off. I learned a little late how to do it healthier but trial by fire.
The California Athletic Commission is great and one of the strictest in the world. They weighed me a week and a half before the fight, extra tests and scans, multiple drug tests. We weighed in and they weighed us the night of the fight to make sure we complied with the rehydration rules, which I passed all easily.
I needed to go through this fight to implement permanent lifestyle changes and now I feel like this is just the beginning. I can’t wait to see where I can push my body to go next.
I’m so glad the world got to experience this version of @rondarousey I found a beautiful woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister and legend. I adore you lady.
We made history, again. I hope @MostVpromotions MMA @netflix continue on because they CRUSHED it. Respect where respect is due. @nakisa_bidarian@jakepaul
It was such a great experience.
Thank you ALL for showing your support. It’s because of you we get to face our fears and live our dreams.
With all my heart, thank you all. ♥️
Congrats to Sgt. Manning & Sgt. Van Duzee for successfully completing Leadership Command College on Friday. Hosted by the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, the course is designed to strengthen leadership, decision-making, and command-level skills in law enforcement.
Hill sprints are starting to look like hill SPRINTS again! So grateful I GET to do this.
You can live life with a “get to” mentality or a “got to” mentality—the choice is yours every day. Since last summer, I’ve gained so much gratitude for the things I GET to do again. When everything is taken from you and you can’t do anything under your own power, you realize just how much you took for granted.
For me: coaching practice, playing in the yard with my kids, watching them compete in sports—even doing hill sprints.
It wasn’t that long ago that I wouldn’t have been able to walk up that hill. Now, by the grace of God and the willpower to grind every day, I’m back to sprinting.
Stop taking things for granted and appreciate the things we GET to do.
“All our research and our subject matter experts said the Malinois were the best working dogs. They’re bred to be working dogs — dogs like different things, bones or being petted — but a Malinois lives to taste blood. The breeders told us you’ll get them trained, but they’ll never hit that PhD level until the dog tastes blood. Once that happens, the dog becomes completely different. They become a hundred times more focused and dedicated to finding and capturing the guy you release them on.”
