Our invited review paper "Solar System Physics for Exoplanet Research" has been been published Open Access with @PASPJournal. Want to learn all the Solar system's secrets? Check it out here: https://t.co/zyNfMv6SHk #Exoplanets#SolarSystem#Free#Science#Space#USQAstro
Use our interactive globe to see if you're in the 'zone of disappointment' for the Perseids – then save these dates for better meteor showers to watch. @JontiHorner@unisqaus https://t.co/QI8dqSXwOQ
Everyone's talking about the Perseid meteor shower...
But don’t bother trying to see it in Australia or NZ!

My colleague and I at @unisqaus are looking for a postdoc to do some cool science involving data from Gaia and RV exoplanet observations. For more info, check out the advert at: https://t.co/9ou32ZYgEh
As many have pointed out, the LASCO images on the SOHO website are saturated. So this is the result of my own algo for processing them.
And I will echo my sentiments from yesterday: This. Comet. Is. RIDICULOUS! 🤩😍 ☄️🔭☀️
We're now under 48hrs from Kreutz-group sungrazing comet C/2024 S1 (ATLAS) entering the @MissionSoho SOHO/LASCO C3 field of view. It's gonna be interesting to see how this one plays out... [short thread coming up]

PSA, particularly for science writers/journalists:
PLEASE stop saying Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS was "last seen 80,000yrs ago", and/or "will return in 80,000yrs". Neither of these are even remotely correct!
[Details to follow...]
Unquestionably the most conspicuous comet @MissionSoho has ever seen, even if not technically the brightest 😍☄️ Can't wait to really dig into all the multi-spacecraft data next week! 🤓
On tonight's agenda...
We're exploring the powerful cosmic events that occur when galaxies collide! 💫💥🌏

Do you like #Astronomy? ✨
Or do you like #Space? 🚀
And do you live in #Toowoomba?
Well - you should come along to @unisqaus's festival of Astronomy and Space! I'll be speaking tomorrow night about galaxy collisions 🌌
We're about 9 hrs from Comet Tshuchinsan-ATLAS from entering the LASCO C3 images. It'll appear in the right-hand side. (Trust me -- you won't miss it!)

@JontiHorner writes that Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) is expected to be the brightest spectacle of 2024. Our charts will help you find it in the night sky. @unisqaus https://t.co/Tj96BcZ7oA
