Presnel Kimpembe suffered a “Grade 3 Achilles Tendon Injury” and had to undergo surgery to stitch his Achilles tendon together and he ended up being out for over 400 days and that’s over a year out.
He sends his prayers and wishes to his French teammate, Eketike who suffered a similar injury yesterday and is now ruled out of the World Cup.
In his words, he said, “This one hurts deeply. I’ve been through that Achilles injury myself, and I know exactly how cruel it can be, not just physically, but mentally. I was out of action for 639 days. The road back is long, lonely, and demands a strength people don’t always see.”
“I feel for Hugo because I know what it means to dream of a first World Cup, to work every day for that moment… and then suddenly, it’s taken away from you. That pain is hard to put into words.”
“But I also know this: he has the strength to come back stronger. This is not the end of his story. Stay strong, brother; we’re all behind you. You’ll never walk alone.”
We all wish Hugo the very best.

Blogger Musa Khawula Asks What Fikile Mbalula and Businessman Ze Nxumalo Will Do with "Lies" After Senior Investigators at the Madlanga Commission Contacted Him
Controversial blogger and social media commentator Musa Khawula has stirred attention on X (formerly Twitter) after posting a cryptic message tagging ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula and businessman Ze Nxumalo.
The post hints at upcoming developments at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, which is investigating alleged corruption, political interference, and collusion in the criminal justice system.
In a message shared late on 24 February 2026, Khawula wrote: “hi babies! Mbalula Fikile and ze nxumalo, what are ya'll gonna do after all the lies and scheming because the phone has rang, see ya'll soon at the lil commission, ΧΟ ΧΟ, gossip girl.” The post included a screenshot suggesting contact from a Senior Investigator at the commission.
Khawula’s name has appeared repeatedly in testimony, particularly regarding his January 2025 arrest in KwaZulu-Natal on charges including the Cybercrimes Act, crimen injuria, and hate speech. Witnesses, including from the Gauteng Organised Crime Unit, have linked his arrest to complaints from figures such as Ze Nxumalo and ANC leaders, including Mbalula, over Khawula’s social media activity.
The Madlanga Commission, chaired by retired Constitutional Court Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, continues public hearings in Pretoria. It has yet to confirm if Khawula will formally testify.
Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya also testified until 24 February, denying sharing Khawula’s arrest warrant with alleged crime figures and rejecting claims of undue political influence.
