Re-sharing something @adamparsons posted a few days ago. This, from our dear, late friend Simon Ricketts, which you may or may not wish to consider ahead of Thursday. X
URGENT! Pls share. The last chance to register to vote in the General Election is 11.59pm tomorrow Tue 18 June. Potentially 8m aren't registered at their current address. Here's 4 key facts...
1) You can do it online here https://t.co/i4FhJoAXfK
2) It's good for your finances. Not being on electoral roll can make it more difficult to be accepted for credit products like bank accounts or mortgages.
3) You can opt out of the 'Open Register' (which allows your info to be sold on) which will stop you getting junk mail marketing )
4) You'll need ID when you do vote (not to register) if you don't have it, you can get it free until Wed 26 June https://t.co/9bfL3hw3CV
@guardian_sport in retrospect surely this was beyond misguided and self serving on the eve of the cup final? Inaccurate, unsubstantiated and extremely unfair to the club and individual. The fact @JacobSteinberg doubled down on it completely destroys both his and your credibility.
@bowie_sarah thank you so much for this book! Our reading averse 9 year old has never been able to find anything this engaging. She’s just devoured it in a couple of days and now can’t wait for the next one. This is massive for us!
@LNER it looks like you’ve cancelled my train home tomorrow (16:16 from Leeds to Stevenage) but although I can’t get another train that will get me to Stevenage before an hour later there’s no kind of compensation if I travel? What kind of loophole is this?
@LNER But I can’t travel on the service before which is why I booked that train. So it looks like the answer is it’s cheaper for LNER to cancel trains than delay them. It happens all the time, it’s ridiculous.
