New York is a safer place thanks to @AlexBores. The RAISE Act uniquely allows innovative and life-changing uses of AI while protecting against its most dangerous possible applications. Proud of my friend and his team!
BREAKING: Gov. @KathyHochul just signed the RAISE Act, my first-in-the-nation AI safety bill, into law—a major victory in what will soon be a national fight to harness the best of AI’s potential and protect Americans from the worst of its harms.
Proud to have led this fight alongside @agounardes.
Proud of @bradhoylman for making history as NYC’s first LGBTQ+ Borough President! Queens is still the best borough, but Manhattan couldn’t be in better hands.
To the voters of Manhattan — thank you from the bottom of my heart for our historic win last night. Because of you, I will be the first openly LGBTQ+ Borough President in our city’s history.
It was an honor to celebrate last night with my friend and our DA Alvin Bragg who will continue to serve as a champion for justice here in Manhattan without fear or favor.
And congratulations to Zohran Mamdani on your momentous victory. I look forward to working with Mayor-elect Mamdani to deliver a safer, more affordable Manhattan and a brighter future for all.
Here’s to a new day in NYC! 🗽🌈
It is hard to imagine New York's congressional delegation without @RepJerryNadler. He has been an extraordinary force for our community, and for the values we cherish, for my entire life.
I had the privilege to work for Jerry nearly twenty years ago. Every day was a window into the rare elected leader who was always principled, regularly fearless, and who brought to bear in everything he did an encyclopedic mind. I look up after all this time and realize just how much he has shaped how I think about public service.
A memory: We were once involved in an effort to persuade Fordham University to allow its security guards to unionize. I had drafted a lengthy letter to go from Jerry to the university president, a Jesuit priest. Jerry read the letter in front of me, looked up, and asked whether I was familiar with "Rerum novarum." I was not. The yeshiva-educated son of a chicken farmer explained that it was the 1891 papal encyclical on labor and the working class. He wanted to invoke Rerum novarum in the letter. Only Jerry Nadler.
He is irreplaceable.
Congratulations to @JerryNadler on a distinguished career.
From the NY Assembly to the US Congress, Congressman Nadler has always led with the conviction of his beliefs and a deep commitment to his constituents.
The people of the 12th Congressional District deserve that kind of represention.
…and a well-deserved congratulations to the real hero @crowell__c for running a top-notch campaign covering every neighborhood from Inwood to the Battery!
Congratulations to Manhattan’s next Borough President @bradhoylman! Brad ran on his prolific track record and a positive, progressive vision for a more affordable and livable Manhattan. Albany’s loss is the borough’s gain!
To the volunteers and voters of Manhattan: Thank you for putting your trust in me and in our vision for the greatest borough in the greatest city in the world.
Together, we are going to build a brighter future for all. I couldn’t be more grateful and excited to get to work.
It's difficult to put into words what I felt walking through the @novaexhibition today with my team.
We were repeatedly met with the juxtaposition of music festival revelers and pure evil.
If you haven't seen it, you should. If you don't want to see it, you definitely should.
Too often, politicians willfully misrepresent or oversimplify complex legislative proposals to constituents. Not @AlexBores. This dissection of fundamentally flawed legislation is a model of principled transparency.
The man, the myth, the Assemblyperson! So proud of @AlexBores and excited for him to get things done on behalf of the Upper East Side and New York State.
Quite the roster of warm-up acts for @AlexBores’ inauguration! Everyone is as excited as we are for Alex to make a difference in Albany. Credit to @SenSchumer for the Cornell shout-out!
I am excited for my friend @AlexBores to do great things in the NYS Assembly! Yesterday’s election showed that Albany needs a wake up call - and Alex’s young, fresh, technical perspective will bring so much to the table.
My overwhelming feeling is gratitude.
For the voters of the 73rd District.
For the volunteers.
For the team.
For my family.
And for living in a country where votes matter.
Hi neighbors. I'm your Assemblymember-elect. I'm excited to work for you.
I'm Alex Bores, a proud Democrat running for State Assembly in the most conservative district in Manhattan.
Election day is just 13 days away, and I'm trying to grow my platform to keep calling out Republican nonsense.
Can you RT to help me get to 2,500 followers?
Congratulations to my good friend @AlexBores on a hard-earned victory. Alex’s young, technical perspective is sorely needed in NYS government and the people of the Upper East Side will be well represented in Albany.
I am honored that the voters of the East Side have chosen me to be their Democratic nominee for Assembly.
This win belongs to our broad community of support and our incredible team.
Now the real work begins: Delivering results for New Yorkers.
.@AlexBores is the projected winner in AD 73 and I'm beyond thrilled! Before he launched, Alex and I discussed at great length what his candidacy would look like: authentic, honest and animated by a positive message of serious solutions. Voters would get the real Alex. 1/3
This is a travesty that will cost lives.
The Governor immediately needs to call a special session of the legislature to take aggressive action on guns.
