Black South Africans were once treated, if not still being treated the way they now treat African immigrants.
A story deeper than you think.
Saartjie Baartman (1789–1815) was a South African Khoikhoi woman who was taken to Europe and exhibited as a freak show attraction because of her physical characteristics.
Born in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Baartman was a member of the Khoikhoi people, an Indigenous group that had lived in the region for thousands of years. She was known for her large buttocks and elongated labia, which were considered unusual and exotic by European standards.
In 1810, Baartman was deceived by a British ship’s doctor into traveling to England, where she was promised work as a domestic servant. However, upon arrival, she was exhibited as a freak show attraction, with her body displayed and examined by the public.
Baartman’s treatment in Europe was highly exploitative and dehumanizing. She was subjected to humiliating and degrading treatment, including being forced to appear naked on stage and being poked and prodded by spectators.
Baartman died in 1815 at the age of 26, likely due to a combination of poor living conditions, exploitation, and disease.
Her body was then dissected, and her remains were put on display at the Musée de l'Homme in Paris, where they remained until 1974.
In 2002, Baartman’s remains were finally returned to South Africa and buried in the Eastern Cape. Her story has become a symbol of the exploitation and racism faced by Indigenous people and people of color during the colonial era.
Erykah Badu’s message is deeper than what some may think. It’s art, history, and truth.
For the sake of your children, who each morning must wake up and go to school, stop insulting education.
Somehow you have grown accustomed to insulting education as a way to make your arguments. Very tragic culture I must say!
There is no pride in being an ignorant people!
You can perfectly disagree with anyone without insulting education.
Why would you want to breed an education hating nation?
Unless of course, you are working with those who have benefited for centuries out of keeping Africans ignorant!

Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. #ApostolicJourney#Cameroon https://t.co/bKteFZ3iWE
BREAKING NEWS; When you start making good money, avoid showing anyone. Family, friends or strangers. Always pretend you don't have money. Even when your pockets are overflowing. You'll thank me later.
You can only have this type of presidential candidate win in a society that is rooted in critical thinking, reading, and is generally educated. Zimbabwe is none of those things.
Our O Level pass rate has never gone past 34% in over 40 years. It means Zimbabwe has been assured that more than 66% of the people who sit for O Levels have consistently failed for 40 years. That is two generations.
Such a society cannot see the importance of what Dr Nkosana Moyo says. It is also the same society where citizens are prepared to die for Emmerson Mnangagwa or Nelson Chamisa, and not for ideas.
Some of those who are prepared to die for these men actually have university degrees. It tells you all you need to know about the state of our critical thinking.
It means people cram information in order to reproduce it in exams simply to pass, rather than being taught how to think, analyse, and question the world around them, as is encouraged in more intellectually developed societies.
It is the same society where citizens walk on top of sewage in its cities, yet the people who created that mess are still in contention for political power and actually have sizeable support structures. Need I say more?
It is a society where, after all the evidence has been laid bare, people still choose to follow the politics of cult and personality rather than ideas, and instead attack you, Alexander, for bringing up your legitimate point.
That is what happens in a society where citizens do not read. A society that does not read cannot recognise good leadership, Alexander, it only recognises familiar faces.
