When we opened as Singapore's first makgeolli bar 13 years ago, we spawned at least five "competitors."

Sure we felt lousy but guess what, we taught them our cocktails. We ran weekend sessions for anyone who dreamed of opening a bar of their own.

Competition was never the threat. It kept us evolving, improving, on our toes — focused on perfecting our own bar instead of policing everyone else's.
