Please pray – the conflict in #Yemen has taken a sharp turn for the worse, with major government offensives being launched against the Houthis. Airstrikes and ground fighting are intensifying, and there are growing fears of wider escalation.
Thousands have fled and been forced to find refuge elsewhere. Many are without adequate food, water or shelter, and humanitarian workers are under increasing strain as the numbers of those in need are rapidly climbing.
For the church, the conflict is only worsening the vulnerabilities of Christians, and many are being caught in the crossfire. This includes the loss of a brother only days ago. The church is grieving his loss and fear what may happen next.
Please pray for believers and all those affected,
- For those displaced inside Yemen, that the Lord would provide for all their needs
- That the violence would end quickly and for total restoration of peace
- For the church in Yemen as it grieves and perseveres, that God would grant them comfort and strength to keep trusting in Him.
VOM President Cole Richards writes: “We should be thrilled to tell everyone that while powerful darkness has reigned in Iran for nearly 50 years, it is in this country that we have seen the greatest conversion of Muslims to Christ in the 1,400 years since Islam’s founding.”
In Chiapas, Mexico, deep in the mountains where indigenous Christian communities have worshipped for generations, many believers have never heard the Word of God in their own language.
Until now. 🙏
Pastor Luai was imprisoned seven times in Myanmar, with each sentence lasting several months. While in prison, guards regularly tortured the valiant preacher in an attempt to demoralize and discourage him from continuing in ministry after his release.
"The Lord said to Moses, 'Tell Aaron and his sons, "This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: 'The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.'" So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.'" (Numbers 6:22-27) #VerseOfTheDay
Parastoo regularly participated in Islamic services in Iran, yet the events were never joyful. But when friends invited her to church, she found something different. “Everybody, instead of sadness, they have the joy!” she said. She responded by placing her trust in Christ.
"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:18) #VerseOfTheDay
