There is a famous line from the Godfather movies that fits well with my mind as I wrap my head around the Attorney General of our fair state, the chief legal officer, endorsing a man who:
· admits to selling drugs to youngsters,
· married a woman so that she could get in-state tuition,
· found guilty of bank fraud as a felony larceny charge,
· is fighting a complaint filed with the FEC alleging illegal transfers from a state PAC to a federal super PAC
· is currently being investigated by Congress for over 100 stock trades he failed to disclose totaling up to $1.6 million, a potential violation of the STOCK Act,
· strangely went from a normal worth to multiple millions in less than three Congressional terms,
· is fighting allegations from many on his wife’s Classical Academies/Optima controversies, and more.

When I first heard of this endorsement, I felt great anger. I was curious as to why his endorsement upset more than any other? It finally hit me. I had put James Uthemeier under the umbrella of Ron DeSantis’ protection.

From the moment that James joined the governor’s office as deputy general counsel, he was given grace and support by many of us, simply because he worked for the governor. Promotions to General Counsel then Chief of Staff to finally Attorney General of Florida strongly cemented in me the idea that he must be like the governor for him to promote him.

I never really scrutinized James, the public official. I never did my due diligence with his first election coming up. I was simply going to vote for him because of the umbrella. My bad. I will now pull back and look at what he is doing and is not doing. What is fluff and flash and what is real protection of the people.

You see, out from under the umbrella of protection, James is just another ordinary politician that I need to research. And I will. Oh, will I.

And that Godfather line? Michael is talking to Kay after all that they have been through, including divorce. He asks if she hates him. She replies, “I don’t hate you Michael, I dread you.”

I don’t hate James. I just dread him like all average politicians.

Or we can hand the keys to politicians making promises they can't keep.

I've spent my life running toward hard things.

A Black male suspect, Jaydakis Hamilton has been arrested for allegedly m*rdering and BURYING a White female victim, Jordan Wishon.

According to investigators, last week, Jordan was reported missing from Mooresboro NC.

Detectives searched all weekend and sadly found human remains buried on a property.

It was Jordan.

By Sunday, they had a first-degree m*rder warrant for a 25-year-old man named Jaydakis Hamilton.

According to state court records, Jaydakis has a history of nearly 90 cases across four counties.

Read that again... nearly NINETY CASES.

What a disappointment you have turned out to be @JamesUthmeierFL.

Governor DeSantis said it clearly when he was asked if he was going to endorse Byron Donalds. He said Byron Donalds had nothing to do with our wins in Florida and that is 100% correct.

Byron Donalds spent years traveling around the country campaigning for donations and appearing on Fox News. He has a rate of missed votes in Congress that is triple the median rate of missed votes in the House of Representatives.

The most disappointing and telling part about your post is the part about him fighting to protect the unborn. You were there in the fight against Amendment 4 that would have enshrined abortion up to birth in the constitution. We are thankful to you to have joined us in that fight. But, you know very well that Byron Donalds was MIA during that fight. While governor DeSantis, his team, conservatives and the grassroots had been fighting against Amendment 4 for months, Byron Donalds was completely silent. It wasn't until late August 2024 (months after the fight had started) that he said in an obscure townhall that he would vote against it. That's where it ended. He didn't write about it or spoke about it again after that. His comments at that townhall came during the same days that Trump (who had been against governor DeSantis's six-week abortion law) said that he would vote against Amendment 4. By that time Byron Donalds made his comments, there was only about a month and a half left before Floridians were going to start voting on the amendment.

We know Byron Donalds gets his marching orders from DC.

In Florida, we need independent thinkers who represent our state against the federal government. Those are the type of Republicans I'm voting for in this Republican primary. That isn't Byron Donalds. He's compromised by donors, DC, and the establishment.
