This is what real consequences for animal cruelty look like: 4 years behind bars, $65,000 in fines, and a nationwide ban on chaining dogs.

Italy just passed one of the strictest animal protection laws in its history.

Under the Brambilla Law, anyone who tortures or kills an animal faces up to 4 years in prison and fines up to $65,000, double the previous penalties. The law took effect July 1, 2025 and bans permanently chaining dogs outdoors across the country.

For the first time, animals are recognized as legal subjects, not property. Organizing animal fights brings 2 to 4 years in prison. Puppy trafficking can mean up to 18 months. Filming animal cruelty online is now a crime, with harsher penalties if minors are involved. Abandoning an animal can cost up to $11,000.

The Italian Senate passed it unanimously, and animal welfare groups across Europe are calling it a model for others to follow. 🇮🇹���

Very irritated with all the commentators tonight saying what a nice guy Tim Davie is and how he "wanted" to reform the BBC.

But he didn't, did he? He did absolutely NOTHING to tackle the BBC's blatant anti-semitism, or their obsession with trans or their unscientific climate hysteria, or their Trump and Brexit derangement syndromes, or their insanely out of touch pro-mass immigration stance or their absurdly obvious left wing bias.

He didn't sack anyone who deliberately misled the public about Trump's Jan 6 speech, or the Glastonbury Bob Vylan debacle, or anyone responsible for other clear breaches of the BBC code of conduct.

It really isn't hard for the BBC to simply report the news as fact, giving airtime to different viewpoints. They make a deliberate choice every single day to NOT do that. And yet we are all forced by law to pay their wages.

Far more heads must roll than just Tim Davie and Deborah Furness. The BBC needs a full clear out.

Labour's latest attack ad on me.

I've never claimed to be a political mastermind, I'm just a normal working class bloke born in a Labour stronghold to two decent Labour supporting working class parents in a tough coal mining village.

I'm not an expert at anything I was pretty good at👇

Getting up at 4.30am every morning for years to go and do a shift down the pit.

Bringing up two children as a single parent for 17 years.

Coping with being made redundant and having my house repossessed.

Volunteering at Citizens Advice and helping people in my community.

Working 3 jobs at the same time on minimum wage.

Working with homeless care leavers in Ashfield.

Raising over 100k for good causes and charities.

Giving away my pay rises to local good causes.

Helping set up and promote our own local mental health charity.

Giving thousands of pounds of my own money to local good causes.

I am exactly the type of person that Labour should represent but they don't.

They sneer and snigger at people from my community which is one of the reasons they are turning to Reform.

Well sneer at your peril as the silent majority have the loudest voices at the ballot box.

So Labour is correct in that I'm not an expert on anything but that's because I've been busy living a real life with real challenges.

Something they will never understand.
