u look at the way western artists campaign and the way asian diaspora in their committees like zeena koda were going “pleaase give us the kiddy table”? im not surprised they felt confident that asians from the motherland like bts would also humble themselves to beg for acceptance
calling a group of POCs “cry babies” saying they’re “throwing tantrums” and villainising them for wanting adequate representation is very icky to me. kpop stans continue to sound like racist white people
@mochiijjk with their racist history i dont think this was innocent theyve done this before with latin pop and the urban/afrobeats category. and bts cant be nominated in pop duo/group performance if theyre nominated in this (they specifically mentioned pop duo/grp) they need to open a map
baby asia doesnt need your scraps lol "asian pop" is a racist term to begin with. you yt people need to look up whats asian and whats pop and if these word even make sense together. unless you think china, korea and japan are the only countries in asia lmfao
@readonlyshan I think her message is clear and realistic, friends. She explains that this new category wasn't about BTS (major categories for international artists), but was intended to open a door to Asia for lesser-known groups. I believe you all misunderstood the message.

“I applaud BTS for withdrawing from the Grammys after they added an "Asian Pop" category. What BTS did was a power move. Racism may never end in our lifetime, but how we choose to respond to it matters.”
