We can't have clean energy because it will destroy the oil industry. We can't have healthcare because it will destroy the health insurance industry. We can't have peace because it will destroy the weapon industry. Capitalism built a system we can't afford to do the right thing.
Capitalism was the necessary step after feudalism, and communism is the necessary step after capitalism. Humans evolve and grow, our systems of distribution and governance must as well. There is more to life than work, debt, and death.
If the global north didn’t intentionally try to pass off doing absolutely nothing to address climate change as progressive climate policy for damn near 2 decades we wouldn’t be here.
I firmly believe that when you have no context to the systems for which you live under, it’s all the more easy for you to succumb to the effects of them. You NEED to read books. You need to understand how your government works. How your society works sociologically. We live under systems.
