@rickasaurus As far as fast food goes, it’s decently tasty stuff. Definitely not really better quality than any other average fast food, but worth trying once.
I dislike going to Costco. Having my wife with me actually improves the experience.
So not sure these ratings have as much to do with having their wives there as just the Costco experience itself.
Just way too many people and a mad max parking lot.
@rickasaurus I should say though that I think historically that’s been fine! Most people in cs programs don’t care to go super deep into cs itself. Maybe just shouldn’t have called it comp sci, should have just called it computer programming or something.
@rickasaurus I wonder if this is because cs programs are really just (bad, tbh) ‘swe’ programs, and not *really* cs programs?
That is, to paraphrase djikstra, most ‘cs’ programs tend to be mostly about the telescopes.
@JohnDCook There’s a fun little quote about this, actually. Sagan was talking about another scientist (Lewis Thomas iirc) who separately proposed broadcasting music out to space, saying we should send the complete works of Bach, ‘but that would be boasting’
also the only option for managing your network is a phone app. Which probably is great for regular folks but frustratingly limited.
And they take over an hour to post a status page during an outage
I’m sure it’s a real problem but this headline is funny to me, cause like, vs ‘the average hardworking family’, they could own a grand total of … 2 houses? And be ‘the largest homeowner in Clark County’?
