This marks the second time where the Recording Academy has announced a new category/rule change after a Beyoncé win for her ongoing ‘acts’ genre-spanning trilogy.

The first time was the introduction of Best Dance Pop Recording following ‘BREAK MY SOUL’ and ‘RENAISSANCE’ Dance wins at the 2023 #GRAMMYs. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the Dance Field’s Screening Committee initially felt that the album should be moved to Best Pop Vocal Album before the overall National Screening Committee decided to keep it in Best Dance/Electronic Album.
