@jadler1969@OrinKerr Some solid forecasts here. If the girls athletics cases are only one combo opinion, then I think Kavanaugh is authoring another opinion. Roberts, Kavanaugh and Alito only have three opinions each. They are likely writing 9 of the final 11 or 12 opinions.
Josh Blackman has an interesting article explaining why Gorsuch surprisingly wrote the Landor decision: Jackson had it first and lost her majority to him.

Another Supreme Court prediction: In the Hawaii Second Amendment case, Wolford v. Lopez. Author - my gut says Barrett, maybe Alito. Ruling is Hawaii violates the 2A by banning gun carry on private property open to the public without the prior OK of the property owners.
@WmDGill@billpostmus That is not what I think. The Court's practice is to assign opinions evenly among the justices, to balance out the workload. But a justice will only get a majority opinion to write when he or she is in the majority. If not, that justice does not get to write for the Court.
Here are my Jordstradamus predictions as I gaze upon the Supreme Court Bingo cards on who is writing the remaining 17 decisions:
1. The Chief tries to distribute authorship of opinions evenly among the nine justices, which means each justice will write 6-7 opinions this term.
2 weeks ago we had so many stories about all the ways this World Cup was going to be terrible. Tickets weren’t sold. The pitches were going to be bad. No one was coming here because of immigration worries. Etc. And Americans wouldn’t be rooting for our team because of politics.
All of that seems to have faded quietly. Things are quite good actually.
10. I find the Supreme Court Bingo cards too murky to make calls on who is writing the other decisions because so many of them were argued in April. With more data from Tuesday, the crystal ball will be more clear. Thus spaketh Jordstradamus.
9. The Court will announce decisions on Tuesday, June 23 and Thursday, June 25. The Court will add at least one more day, likely Friday, June 26. I think the Court will spill over to the next week, with June 29 or 30 being the last day, with a clean-up orders list the next day.
It's not just the evidence of assault.
It's not just the Nazi tattoo
It's not just lying about the Nazi tattoo
It's not just the Kik account
It's not just the adulterous sexting
It's not just the deranged posting
It's all of it (and the more that may emerge).
