All the insiders as of yesterday at noon were saying Knies is gone for a massive package and Reilly is headed to San Jose.
So had Chayka completely changed his tune about this? Or are the insiders just guessing?
TRADE: We’ve acquired defenceman Emil Andrae, goaltender Samuel Ersson and a third-round selection in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for goaltender Joseph Woll and defenceman Simon Benoit
@jkamckenzie This sounds a lot like leafs fans trying to justify and take solice in losing to Tampa, Boston, and Florida and then watching those teams go on playoff runs
I might be crazy, but is it possible that both were great? And we can relish in the fact that Canada gets multiple awesome World Cup celebrations!
Yeah you’re right, I’m crazy
No offence #toronto. I love u . But your fan fest a joke next to #vancouver Toronto is great city but fan fest concrete Junge city hall. Our is this 😂 this why I live here. BC is Canada California
BMO, albeit the smallest World Cup stadium, is a great opening venue. Beautiful views, outdoor.
Also, Canada’s flagship sporting venue, probably either Rogers Centre or Bell Centre (LOL at the cable companies owning these). Neither of which could host for obvious reasons
Toronto Stadium (BMO Field) was an underwhelming venue for Canada's FIFA World Cup opening.
Especially compared to the cathedrals of Mexico City Stadium (Estadio Azteca) & Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi).
BC Place Vancouver is Canada's flagship. It should've been today's venue.
The quiet part out loud:
Youth hockey has a retention problem and the industry knows it.
Half the kids who play at 10 are gone by 14. The sport blames everything except the obvious: the cost, the pressure, the adults who make it miserable.
The ones who stay don't stay because of the programs. They stay because they still love it.
Protect that. It's the whole thing.
