Every man has an ideal muscle:cardio ratio.
Your goal should be to find the most amount of muscle your frame can hold, while keeping metabolic health & VO2 max at it's highest.
For most of you, you will naturally find this by sitting in the 12-15% bodyfat range.
Don't bloatmaxx..
The psoas muscle is quintessentially human, responsible for upright posture, bipedal mechanics, and even acting as the neurological gateway to the lower body. Many today have weak psoas muscles, contributing to degenerative posture, movement, digestion, and more.
Everyone has an opinion on why everyone is sick, and they’re all convinced they’ve got it figured out. “It’s the mold, it’s histamine, it’s MCAS, it’s heavy metals, it’s trauma, it’s seed oils, it’s circadian disruption, it’s parasites, it’s gut health, it’s environmental toxins, it’s nnEMFs, it’s poor detox, it’s oxalates, it’s stress, it’s processed food, it’s (add whatever else is the hot topic this week).” And of course, everyone has a solution too.
But what if…
✨just hear me out for a second✨
it’s not just one thing? What if it’s a whole bunch of things all happening at the same time? We’ve gotten so tunnel-visioned and hyper-focused on our little niches that we forget to see the bigger picture. The truth is, everyone’s body is different. Everyone’s energy is different. Everyone needs different things.
Seriously, people. Bring some nuance into the conversation. Lighten up. Live your life. And please, please be humble enough to admit you might be wrong. 😭
Everyone heals in different ways. We can work together.
THE MARTIAL ARTIST ARCHETYPE.
I think we can all agree.
The takes on this app about fighting, bodybuilding & physical training are low IQ.
On one side, you have MMA bro's who think if you know how to fight you are magically going to have girls fall on your lap, and have a status & presence.
The other hand, bodybuilders argue that if they are 30-50lb heavier and stronger than you, your fighting ability means nothing.
Here is the biggest issue with these pointless debates.
In the real world, the capable man reigns supreme.
What is the use of being an elite fighter if you are living pay check to pay check?
And you are objectively broke?
This by definition does not make you capable.
In the same token, being a multimillionaire that's overweight and works 100 hours a week with no time for his family.... Is also not a flex.
The rarest breed of man, is the one that can do it all.
Fighters should be captializing on the fact that more lawyers, doctors and CEOs are interested in combat (BJJ in particular). We have seen this with Zuckerberg.
Ilia Topuria is probably one of the best examples of this exact archetype. Multilingual (4 Languages), equity in WOWfc MMA, affiliations with Real Madrid & Valencia Futbol...

Unless you have UFC professional ambitions as a fighter, martial arts should be used as a vehicle to learn valuable lessons that can be applied to business.
I have experienced this myself where if I miss even a few weeks of sparring, my mental acuity and ability to handle adversity suffers.
I personally have 0 interest in becoming a professional fighter, but martial arts helps voluntarily force you into an environment where you can't be soft.
How hard is making a few phone calls and sending a few emails, when you are constantly pushing your physical limits & testing yourself against other physically capable men?
The weight room doesn't give you this.
The 80/20 of combat sports in my opinion is using it like this:
1. Utilise the cardio benefits of training martial arts as this is a gap missing in bodybuilding routines.
2. Leverage the psychological & mental edge it gives you in a society where everyone is softer than ever.
3. Don't use MMA ability as cope for being skinny and not building above average strength & muscle mass.
4. If you are a professional fighter, you need to leverage this to give yourself business opportunities in the real world.
I get it, you're born to fight. But have $100 to your name because you haven't structured your career correctly is a disservice to your future family.
This is a longer post, but those that think you either have to be working 24/7 and can't carve out 5 hours of your week to exercise, just shows you have piss poor business acumen.
You're also allowed to train martial arts and have bodybuilding goals as well.
Might not be the BEST if you want to be the best fighter possible.
But think for yourself.
Everyone has different goals.
