You may think I'm a shill for paving the harbour but it's actually just that in grade 10 I cited a badly made map for a report and my teacher stared into my soul with disappointment, and now I can't suffer people stretching out maps in MS Paint or whatever.

I took a cut out from the jets EA and aligned it to a base map (City of Toronto aerial) so that the scale is more accurate. The overlay in the quote is out of proportion/position and shows land extending at least twice as far west.

The environmental assessment (EA) of jets at the island airport says jet blast deflectors would range from 14 to 19 feet. There would be deflectors also along the side of the runway, plus sound walls. Also jet blast wind could cause small recreational boats to become unstable 1/2

@JohnLorinc I don't get it, these posts tend to cite source materials but then exaggerate them by 2x to 4x anyway.

I've mapped a couple of these now just to confirm hunches about the distortion.

I projected it onto a map. I'm seeing 1600m+ of fill and a runway more than 3km in length.

The no jets voices on my feed seem easily misled and keen to mislead. Hard to trust any claims when they illustrate 1km of extension and tell you it's 300m (one end numbers). The only charity I can extend is that there is no plan out there to actually engage with.

With @StatCan_eng, we conducted the first Municipal Land Use and Regulation Survey.

Overall, it found that more land regulation seems to be linked to lower housing affordability.

@c_9 All the route and stop pages have the same metadata. 509 Harbourfront is "Routes & schedules". 32 Eglinton West at Islington Ave Eastbound is "Routes & schedules". The sitemap has 1000s of route and stop URLs that describe themselves as "Routes & schedules".

@_nithursan @Open_TO Hi! It was only that dataset, and the site used an even older version at that. I think the city is maintaining the underlying data during routine tree maintenance, but they don't seem to release often. May be worth asking the open data folks if an update can be made.
