There's lots of hype around GPT-6 Astra, but model-launch posts are almost never fully accurate.
So I went straight to the source. I asked Astra Max what it actually does better than previous models, and what is just hype.
Here’s its answer, without spin.
Most companies still use AI like a freelancer trapped in a chat box: paste in a prompt, ask for a campaign, hope for magic.
Its real value starts when it can read your calls, tickets, CRM and campaign data, then surface what everyone missed.
Seeing reality faster is the edge.
Many companies feel behind on AI, so they rush to bolt it onto old workflows or build a company brain because it sounds trendy.
Before building anything, understand how the company actually works, where it breaks, and what people will use.
Otherwise, expect an expensive mess.
A founder I spoke with dropped $40k on AI last quarter. Minimal ROI.
The tools worked, but the team just never evolved. AI is cheap. Rebuilding your team's habits is expensive.
Automate the grind, but keep judgment human.
Speed is useless if you're doing the wrong things fast.
Just like in chess, there are practically an infinite number of moves a startup can make regarding their marketing strategy.
Just like a grandmaster, a marketer's highest leverage work is to examine the board, and decide which next moves are the best given the circumstances.
Many companies try to implement AI solutions before understanding the problem they're trying to solve. Then everything just gets messier, faster.
Figure out who owns what, where the info comes from, and what still needs a human.
Automation is the final step, not the first one.
AI is taking control of B2B targeting and delivery.
What hasn't changed is: The winners will be the companies that solve a real pain point, and communicate in a way that speaks to the customer directly.
Missing one target rarely kills a startup. Three quarters fixing the wrong cause can.
Revenue is the last domino to fall. It shows you the chain broke, not which domino fell first.
Trace the customer journey. Find the first break. Give the fix to the team that controls it.
Common misconception: "Using AI to pump out more content faster is what will replace marketing."
No chance.
The best marketing use case for AI is something very different:
Automating away pointless coordination tasks, freeing up time for max creativity and execution.
@starks_arq I’m down to collaborate, let me know how you want to do this.
I’ve only made one (in progress) AI movie trailer so far, so I’m not the best technician just yet but I am determined to be great because I have too many creative ideas that I can’t just let them go idle.
@johnrushx Ask yourself: How would your week to week routines change if money were no object?
Sometimes people get so caught up in acquiring money that businessperson becomes their identity and they forget they’re also a person, too. Farming is primal and honest which is why we like it.
Insight: 10 years from now, the web3 projects that have won will be the ones who don’t even talk about web3 in their product marketing.
The end user doesn’t care what materials are in their Nike sneakers, or what is inside their iPhone.
What are you doing for the end user?
Cool that X is opening up the algorithm to counterbalance the previous shadowbanning and other bad practices, but too much info makes people game the system and create mechanical convos.
I post, you reply for points, I reply once for points, convo over, this is how we talk now.
Too many projects in web3 are intentionally vague, filled with buzzwords, because they are trying to be the Amazon of the industry and are afraid of being pigeonholed as too small.
Ironically, when Amazon was young it did the exact opposite of them.
That’s why they’re ngmi.
The interesting thing about VCs is that no one knows who is any good at it until a decade later.
Unfortunately too many web3 founders treat VC advice as if it’s scripture, and end up listening to them more than to prospective customers.
As a result, most projects go nowhere.
Great to see that the “founder mode” debates from 2024 didn’t follow us into the new year.
Saw numerous people misinterpret it and use it as a license to micromanage their companies into the ground.
