From an art perspective, the genesis of #Hmong story cloths is insane. Beginning in refugee camps in the late 70s/80s, these women literally *invented* a new art form in the midst of war and trauma to earn money to survive.
It was created by just thread. But in the images that pour out of the women onto the cloth, I could feel decades of pain and resilience they've held and still hold. It becomes more than just thread.
