Canada — specifically the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan — has by far the highest-grade uranium deposits on Earth.
• Cigar Lake Mine (operated by Cameco): Often called the world’s highest-grade uranium mine, with average ore grades around 15–16.3% U₃O₈ (triuranium octoxide).
• McArthur River Mine: Historically one of the richest, with grades in the high teens percent in key zones.
• These unconformity-related deposits are 10–100+ times richer than the global average mined ore grade (most operating mines are >0.10% U, with many much lower).
