🚨Reports suggest the current feeling inside Manchester United is that Marcus Rashford is now more likely to remain at Old Trafford than leave before the transfer window closes.

There are no active negotiations currently progressing towards an exit. Unless another club makes a significant late move, Rashford is expected to return and compete for his place under Michael Carrick.

This doesn’t necessarily mean he’s guaranteed to start regularly, it simply means the club are preparing for the possibility that he’ll be part of the squad this season.

With Rashford still under contract and earning a substantial salary, finding a deal that suits both Manchester United and any interested club remains difficult.

As always during the transfer window, situations can change quickly if a suitable offer arrives before the deadline.

🚨JUST IN: Marcus Rashford is expected to return to Manchester United training next week after being granted an extended break following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he reached the latter stages with England

Rashford has spent around three weeks on holiday, in line with the additional rest often given to players involved deep into major international tournaments.

He is expected to rejoin the squad while Manchester United continue their pre-season preparations in the Republic of Ireland.

Rashford will return alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martínez, who also featured in the latter stages of the World Cup and were given extra time off

His first opportunity to feature could come against AC Milan on 15 August, although the Leeds United fixture on 12 August may arrive too soon depending on his fitness and training load

A return to training also means Rashford will have the chance to impress Michael Carrick and compete for his place, especially after recent reports suggesting he is now more likely to remain at Old Trafford unless a significant transfer offer materialises.
