I just want to say something.

No matter how the finale goes today, these are still your favorite characters and it doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to them today or stop loving them because something didn’t go as you hoped.

We spent 10 years with this show, adding to these characters, developing them, creating new stories and theories. Canon is only 10% of that and can never or could have ever covered it all, but it doesn’t mean it should discourage you from creating further. You don’t like something, you can always rewrite it. I know it’s not the same, but it doesn’t mean it’s less. This is fiction, not real life, you can do whatever you want.

Fandoms, and with that your favorite characters, only die once you stop contributing to them. Once you stop adding something new, once you stop using your imagination, once you stop experimenting with the stories and taking risks. Get sticks out of your asses and don’t be afraid to get creative just because a few people out there will have a few things to say. Wanna send characters to Mars, send them to Mars. Wanna rewrite the entire show, rewrite the entire show.

And for everyone else: leave kudos, comments, interact with the art so people don’t feel like they’re creating for nothing. Don’t like, don’t read or interact. It’s basic fandom etiquette. From tomorrow on, there is nothing to be right about anymore and there are no rules other than respect. It’s up to you whether you want to have fun or just yell at each other all the time FOR NOTHING and make it miserable for everyone else.

You love these characters because they have a backstory and traits you like or relate to in their core, not because of what they did on the surface.

Have fun today. be sad. cry. laugh. get drunk. it’s not over, we’re just kind of finally free from those brothers. Happy New Year.
