President WSR is absolutely right in his assertion about the cost of using a private jet for his 5-days US trip at KES 200M being cheaper than using KQ which would’ve cost KQ and the country more in terms of opportunity cost (business lost by KQ).

For starters, KQ Dreamliner has a daily scheduled flight to JFK New York. If the President & his entourage were to use it to Atlanta and Washington DC it would’ve disrupted the scheduled KQ flight leading to 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 for KQ.

The Dreamliner has 30 business class seats and 204 economy class seats costing average KES 500K and KES 150K respectively, meaning on passenger tickets alone the flight generates revenue of KES 40M; and that excludes revenue from cargo on the same flight.

It would’ve been infeasible for the President and his large entourage (including security, business delegation & government officials) to use the KQ scheduled flight to New York then use a domestic US flight to Atlanta and Washington DC, so the only practical option would’ve been to charter KQ Dreamliner for 5 days or get a private jet.

Considering the President @WilliamsRuto used the private jet exclusively for his whole trip hurtling to Atlanta then Washington DC then back at a cost of KES 200M instead of using KQ Dreamliner which would’ve disrupted regular business for @KenyaAirways with huge losses, the private jet was the most prudent choice for this landmark state visit.

Unfortunately most of the analysis being done to question the cost of the private jet vs KQ are somewhat tunnel visioned if not too simplistic [such as that by @NationAfrica in today’s paper]

A proper cost-benefit analysis must’ve been done by @DavidNdii et al, and if publicized the detailed analysis will surely vindicate the President’s decision to use a private jet for the historic and economically beneficial US trip 👊🏾

There's this fugitive @Noninimgenge2ru who embezzled musicians money when he was a director of MUPAKE & PRISK. We reported him and his gang to the police last week and we are pursuing their prosecution. Now I hear he's circulating a FAKE document on social media purporting it's official accounts of MCSK but the document is actually lifted from the MUPAKE accounts of 2017-2019 and doctored to serve the fertile immagination. This is how they used to steal money from artists, but we will ensure that they face the law. Boss you can run but you can't hide. If the document is genuine take it to the DCI office and record a statement.
